Age CRITERIA

Age Criteria for School Admissions

When parents begin the school admission process, one of the most common concerns is:

“Is my child eligible by age for this class?”

Each year, many applications face delays or rejections because the child does not meet the prescribed age requirement. To make the process smoother, this section explains the correct age criteria for each grade and how you can easily verify your child’s eligibility using an age calculator.

Why Age Matters in School Admissions

Schools in India and abroad follow specific age norms prescribed by educational authorities or respective state boards. These age criteria help ensure that students are emotionally and academically prepared for each stage of learning and social growth.

Submitting incorrect age information can result in:

  • Cancellation or delay of admission
  • Discrepancies in school records
  • Complications during transfers or board registrations

  • Likewise, for Class XII, no upper or lower age restriction applies as long as the student continues regular studies without a break after Class XI.
